How do u like the glass packs on the truck as far as sound goes? I like the exhaust setup. Also diggin the clean interior. I know how you feel about weather. Im working on mine in the driveway...no garage. And its either too hot or raining. I get work done when the sun is rising or setting. Not much in between.

I'm lovin the glasspacks! They sound awesome with this big block. The pipes are 2.5" though and so are the cores of the glasspacks. If you stick with the longer glasspacks they won't be as poppy or loud. They'll be more mellow with a deeper sound. That video I posted is really deceiving. It's not nearly that loud and it sounds like it has more pop in the video than it really does.

Nice. I haven't a clue on what I wanna run. Trying to get ideas. Mellow and deep sounds good. Not sure they will sound as good as urs with the big block. The 6 may sound decent though.

Well, i just read through your entire thread here, and you have gotten quite a bit done, i am impressed. that will be one fine truck you have there when it is done, oh and btw, did you not know that mullets are back inm should of kept yours hehe. also, stevie wonders song you have back on whatever page, had to listen to it twice, one of my favorite songs of all time, thankyou for the enjoyment. later James

if your wondering how rustoleum does on plastic its great so far... on my daily driver my eclipse.. i got to close to the gas tank cover lid with the power washer and it chipped the coating.. so i went and got 320 paper and smoothed it out..wax and grease removed it to prep it.. then shot it with 2 coats of rustoleum black paint from walmart with clear... i did that in the winter.. it had snow/ice and road grime and sunlight and everything on it and it looks good still.. and oh i feel your pain on the fuel pump... i had to find the hard way that mine went out.. filled up couple summers ago when gas was over 3 bucks.. had a full tank.. the next morning it was in my driveway... haha

Yeah I need something pretty stout since people will probably be kicking the blower box with their feet on a regular basis. As for the fuel pump, mine was only spitting out fuel while the engine was running so I didn't lose alot of gas. I just hope I don't have to change it again until I'm ready to pull the motor!

Same problem with mine, filled up with premium for like 3.90 a gallon and noticed it was leaking bad, and only had a dirty catch pan to catch it in so i couldnt reuse the gas,sucked bad and the factory a/c only made it like ten times harder to change the blasted fuel pump

I had a similar problem in my old 84, but it was the gas tank itself actually leaking. I was freaking out trying to find buckets and such to catch all my gas!

I sprayed my whole truck with rusoleum safety red and gloss white (professional series) and it worked great. two years later the paint is starting to fade a little, but I could polish and wax it and it'll come back. I don't bother though, we painted the truck without a spray booth and its got some bad spots in it, Plus all the bondo is starting to show through.

Bottom Line: If the surface is prepped properly and sprayed in a paint booth(with a $50 paint gun from wal-mart), It'll look great!!!! for a total investment of about $100. If you don't belive me, HOT ROD painted a car with a roller and rustoleum paint, and it looked pretty good.

we didn't clear-coat mine, and it looked like a factory original 67-72 paint job.

If anybody is crazy enough to try it. P.M. me and I'll give you a few tips about spraying it.

ya and i plugged the lines but they kept getting in the way.. so i was like... well nothing i can do but pop them off and lose the gas.. it was stressfull haha.. i never used rustoleum on that stuff before tho

I actually just shoved a short 3/8 extension into the rubber line coming from the tank to stop the gas from running out. And I changed my pump from below.

lol on a side note on the blazer Mine went out just as i pulled out of the driveway onece. I had to change in in the street because the drive way was on a hill. damn the luck

Yeah I saw that hotrod article and I checked out the car they painted with the rollers. It looked really sharp in the pictures and they had a total bill of 99.00

I actually have an HVLP gun I'm using on the outside of the truck and regular automotive primer/paint. I'm learning as I go though. I need Scott to school me a little bit!

However, the blower box under my dash is plastic and I'm just gonna find some spraypaint to hit it with. JohnC hooked me up with some Krylon Fusion. I'm gonna try that first.

No, that's what I thought at first but that's because I keep going taller and taller on the 4x4. However, the size of these tires on the 72 are really starting to grow on me. I think I may leave them like they are.
