wtb: SM465 to NP205 adapter and coupling sleeve

just like the title reads. I need these pieces so i can covert my truck to NP205, b/c the Rockwell took a dump on me. I may also need the linkage, not sure yet.

EDIT: I will need the 10 spline coupler as I have a stock SM465 now.

thats kind of funny, I am buying my NP205 off of Mark540.

i just saw that post about the burb frame, and there are a few problems: 1). I have no way to get that home. My truck is inop right now and is the only vehicle we own with a trailer hitch. Also we have no trailer. So thats kinda out of the question. I am lucky, one of my buddies going to Wright State is going to pick the 205 up for me and drive it home with him for spring break, in the trunk of his Honda, lol. 2). I believe the NP205 that is coupled to a TH350 is slightly different than the SM465 version, and I would need a 10 spline input gear for it to work. Also, the adapter would be different. and 3). since I still live at home, my mom would kill me if we had something like that laying around, lol and 4). I don't have that kind of $$ now being a poor college student that needs to get his truck (read: only set of wheels) on the road. but thank you any way!

NP205/SM465

I have a post on the 73-87 board. I have a rolling 78 chassis with 205/4spd. If it doesn't sell whole and I part it out, I'll let you know. The wife says it needs to go by this weekend, so one way or another, I'll know by then. Brian

Ya, I know it's different, but it looked like a near turnkey automatic tranny upgrade which IMO is one of the best things you can do for a daily driver 4x4...and it's a heck of a deal too.

If I had the adapter needed, I give it to Adam as he's an asset to the board and has a good head on his shoulders IMO. I know he's young (in comparison to myself ) but he has common sense, knowledge, and shows a respect for these vehicles and other board members that belies his age.

Disclaimer: This is NOT to imply that others in his age group don't display these attributes, merely a personal observation made from reading his posts.

transfer

If you look on the 73-87 board, it looks like he scored a free tranny/transfer case in Pa. Great deal!

Glad to hear he scored..
Sorry I usually can't do better with prices for you guys, but it isn't my business that has the parts..
And the prices I usually state are what the pieces go for around here and if someone doesn't buy it here I usually only have to wait a week or so and some one will need it..

I am glad that there are people on here that can help or give things for free. I'm just sorry to say I can't afford to do it..

good luck with your combo

I don't think Adam was looking for freebies and maybe I was out of line with my public offer. It certainly wasn't a plea or to shame anyone into giving something away, though in retrospect it may have appeared that way. You shouldn't appologise, I don't normally give too much away either.

FYI, we had a little snow here in NH

Hey guys, thanks for the polite replies...

Mark, I still want your transfer case, because the one I am getting in PA looks to be a slip yoke version from a '80 K/20. I am figuring on using your transfer case and the adapter from that deal in Pa. to get my truck up and running again, as it is my DD and it sure does suck being driven anywhere.

This may sound masochistic, but I like having a 4 speed truck as my DD.

thanks again for the polite replies, fellas

In that case, you masculinity may able to carry this licence plate off!

Just to clear things up, I was not necessarily looking for freebies or handouts. I was not raised that way, and believe in working for what I have. However, I really appreciate Mark540 selling me the transfer case for a very good price. I also appreciate 82 Silverado 4x for giving me the tranny/transfer combo. With all the money these guys saved me, I can now afford to buy a starter to get my engine running again. I am looking to get my truck up and running again, and I am not interested in turning around and selling these pieces for profit. I will just keep the extra pieces in case I need them, or in case someone else in a situation similar to mine needs them. Thank you for the kind words CPNE, and thank you again Mark540 and 82 Silverado 4x for the parts.
-Adam

I do too! Even with the granny first! I feel like I'm not participating in the driving process if I have an automagic.
