Re: adapt old style valve covers to LS motor

bpatrol !
There is a guy in my town who bought a adapter to just bolt a set of old style valve covers over the coils. This eliminates remoting the coils to another part of the engine compartment. They look great . He does not know who makes these adapters. I think that I will end up fabricating some type of adapter for my retro valve covers. If so I will post on here .

Re: adapt old style valve covers to LS motor

dimensionally, i don't see how a standard valve cover will fit "over" a set of coils

They are tapped for PCV fittings on the rear edge.

Re: adapt old style valve covers to LS motor

dayj1 You are on to something there . I think that the guy in my town could be using that setup. I will be seeing him on thursday and look more closely at his set up. really would have liked to remote the coils down on the frame but will do some further investigating once my steering is in and complete.
Thanks guys for all the input and suggestions.
That is what makes this site

Those are going to require use of the LS1 coils like my Edelbrock covers

Re: adapt old style valve covers to LS motor

clemsonteg You are correct. They are going to require different style of coils.

Proform makes a set of covers and relocation kits for the coil packs

Re: adapt old style valve covers to LS motor

Proform ! I have those water jetted out as well. Made from 5056 aluminum. Looking for a cover for the coils while still on the LS valve cover.

Re: adapt old style valve covers to LS motor

I know this thread is old, but if you are still looking for valve cover adapters, have you consider these? - https://www.delmospeed.com/product/valve-cover-adapter/
