Re: Chrome Grill Fix...

Honestly, stick a bumper sticker over it and drive with a smile on your face. There is nothing that can be done, buy a new grille would be the best advice I can give.

Re: Chrome Grill Fix...

You know building wrecks I have ones like that come in often. You can dream of several ideas but the best is to bite the bullet and get a grille or go to the medicine cabinet and get a big band aid and stick over it.
Do you remember that being the style many years ago? It may have just been with kids and early 20 somethings when they got a dent or big scratch they would put a band aid over it. It even got to the point that you could buy them in the sticker section at the auto parts stores.
Any fix is probably gonna look as bad as the broken chrome.

The best way to fix is to replace.

A more reasonable remedy is stick your key in the ignition and drive it like you stole it.

Can I kindly recommend that taking your truck deer hunting in the bush is asking for bruises. Take your brother's truck instead! Lol

Re: Chrome Grill Fix...

You guys crack me up

I was hoping someone would recommend some of the over the counter chrome paints (krylon, rustoleum, etc.).

Oh well.

It's a truck, it gets used, hauls stuff to the dump, pulls my boat, goes deer, turkey, waterfowl hunting, is actually in 4 wheel drive at times. Deer hunting in Sandhills of Nebraska there are not any trees...the road went through a plumb-thicket and I thought "aha, no big deal...I've done this before..." WRONG.

Stomper remembers helping me buff out all the scratches along side.

Yep, it's a truck, and has it's warts / battle scars. Back to rust repair

Re: Chrome Grill Fix...

The reason no one commented on the over the counter "Chrome" is because there is no way, no how, not even close would one of these help you. That is why you didn't get a response.

Not beating you up, honestly, we are joking a bit but there is no stupid question and we honestly didn't respond to that part of your question frankly because there isn't anything to talk about.

Very high quality "chrome" paint like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hy2utPUtLJw is pretty amazing but it is NOT chrome, and side by side it isn't even close.

If you were to spot that area in "chrome" paint from a rattle can I am not kidding you, you might as well just do it in silver, it would look about as good side by side with the chrome on there.

That all being said, if you wanted to repair that damage, epoxy prime the whole thing over to the other side, then spray the whole thing in "chrome" paint, you would have a "look" that can be cool, if you are after that, but it would NOT look like it was chromed. And by the time you did all that you would have more money in the paint than if you just bought a new grille.
