I had a problem using the calculator at first. Guess others may have used it incorrectly as well. Pinion pointing up is actually down. The calculator is looking at the angle from the starting point, not the component. Another tip, if you have a digital angle finder first zero it on the frame for accurate measurements. While the working angle is the only thing that is important. Always good to start with an accurate starting point
