Re: Project 69 Blown Gasser!

Its been slow going but I did manage to get a few things done. Started work on my Muncie 4 speed ( Powder coated chrome) and set the motor in the frame.

That looks great!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news tho. I have BFG 275/60-15's and they can't begin to get traction under power with my motor.....so your BFG's certainly aren't going to be able to keep a blown big block in check!

Just a suggestion, try a 4:11 gear, it may help your traction woes.

plan on getting a different rear, that would come with 4.10's and limited slip. like a 9.5" 14 bolt out of a TrailBlazer SS or similar. still not sure it will grab in 2nd then....and I'm sure I'd still be able to fry 'em in 1st even at speed.

I got them from Speedway Motors for $209.00!! They are for a 55 Chevy big block, they will need to be cut and raised a little to clear the tires but for the price you can't beat it.

Awesome project! I don't think it will take long to grenade that rear end if the thing ever hooks up!

Re: Project 69 Blown Gasser!

I had to see what it would look like. I sat the cab back on and hung a fender. Now I can cut and raise those headers and paint flat white.

Re: Project 69 Blown Gasser!

Haven't done much lately but I did manage to get the headers cut and set in place, dropped them off at the local welding shop yesterday to be tig welded. I want to pull the cab back off and get started on the fuel tank and driveshaft but need more cash flow. I started covering some hurst shifters in velour to make a few bucks but it's slow going.
