I've been going thru the search section and can't find anything on this. I'm trying to get my ducks in a row before switching my 69 C-10 from a 250 to a 292. I have the correct pass side frame perch for the 292, the question is will the engine mounts and the rubber in between from the 250 all work on the 292? I havn't tried yet but someone must sell the rubber mounts new.

I don't think the rubber mounts are any different from the SBC's, but it was 12 years ago that I got my current L6 292 on the road again.

The mounts should fit with no issues. Chevy had the front mounts and changed to the side mounts. As a matter a fact I can buy a 2016 SBC motor and it fits today in my 1972.
Not that I did that.

The 250 , 292 and SBC use the same rubber engine mounts.

Thanks guys for the reply's. Now my only question is are the metal mounts that bolt to the engine the same on the 250 & the 292? I know the pass side frame bracket is different and I have that, just curious about the engine brackets.

I got some made in the USA Anchor rubber mounts for my 292 from Rock Auto for less than 2 bucks each on close out. They still have some offerings for less than 3 bucks:

The frame brackets are different.

Sorry - just saw that you were asking about the engine brackets. I'm not sure if those are different or not. Maybe ask in the engine forum...

The perch on passenger side I believe is unique to 292 applications. I tried unsuccessfully to find a rubber mount that would last in my 68 250 to 292 swap. I would caution the use of a 292 in anything other then a 3/4 or up truck that will be used for towing or heavy load use. It's a slow turning torque monster that flat sucks gas ! And I'm taking 10 mpg or less. I wish I just rebuilt the original 250, great little engine.

I bought a new 69 in the fall of 68 with the 250 and always wished it had a 292. My 250 needs rebuilding and I happen to run across this 292, I'm going to also swap out the 3 speed automatic for a 200-4R at the same time, hopefully this should make a nice combination. Thanks for all the help.

I like my 292. I just try not to spin it too high. The long stroke makes for some serious piston velocities at high rpm.

Torque peak is just off idle in the stock form.
