Re: I finally figured out my Shop Truck Logo...

Just a thought.
How about C10-1967 for a phone number?

Tim, Your right. My mistake. It's not the city name, it's the exchange name. My bad.

Re: I finally figured out my Shop Truck Logo...

ok, ok, sorry about the song virus, couldn't help it...

In all seriousness, I think the following things make a door logo look good:"
- Large enough to cover at least 3/4 of the height of the door
- Some color
- Hand-lettering
- SOME sort of design that smells vintage in the background.
- The phone number with no area code (by 67, most places no longer had the switchboard prefix - but if you like that approach, another option is: "BE0-774"
Now I'm REALLY dating my self. Hint: BE=Bensonhurst)
- And, last but not least, an "Est. 197x" or something like that. Pick a special year for yourself, doesn't really matter, or this year!
- And, REALLY last, but not least - if it's not going to be patina'ed, include some gold or silver leaf.

You may be right. Maybe it wasn't a uniform thing for all parts of the country. I know one thing, putting a name to it sure helped for remembering. I've forgotten about everything but that!

Since we are all custom designing your logo for you, I'd like t to comment on color. I would like to see some yellow in there against the blue...or maybe orange. Ok? Thanks I'm picturing signs with bowties and seeing yellow in there. I guess like the Super Service signs? A touch of red for accent as well. Or, orange with your blue would look good. You know, like the motors. I have these Tonka Toy sized pressed steel '69 Chevy Stepsides with GM plant markings on the doors. I'd have to check, but I believe they have yellow and white in the lettering. And don't forget the pinstripe accents I ordered. Do your own job and be proud of it, but maybe at a show where there's a pinstriper you could get him to do some outline and scroll striping (justa touch)

Re: I finally figured out my Shop Truck Logo...

We got together and finalized the design. It's going to look awesome. He had to order the vinyl.

I also came up with an awesome tagline for the tailgate... Stay tuned....

Re: I finally figured out my Shop Truck Logo...

I'm Clemson Alumni, and I love my team, but when the Cocks won the college world series... a couple of times... I was happy for them (state pride and all). Doesn't mean I pulled for them... just means I was happy for them...

I have tickets to the Clemson games over the next couple of weekends and I hope to have the truck done by then...

Teaser shot... Stencil paint and hand shadow.

Y'all are gonna love the tagline I came up with!

It looks great. I like your choice of background for the pic too.

Re: I finally figured out my Shop Truck Logo...

It's a local small town place in Greer, SC. It had been dead for a long time, but in the past few years it's started to boom again, really nice to see.

I put some much better (and close up) pics in my "1967 CST rebuild" thread in my signature.
