Re: 1969 Short Wide

I don't think it matters anymore if you're doing a total resto on any vehicle. Nothing is cheap and if it is, it sucks. I almost sold the Challenger mess when I started looking at the price of parts to restore it.

Re: 1969 Short Wide

Truck is looking great Mike. Nice to see you have been driving it for a while with no major issues.

I hope to have my stepside on the road this spring. It is moving under its own power for the first time since I bought it. Just a few bugs to work out and some small stuff to finish off before I can take it to the alignment shop. Can't wait for the snow to go away.

Good to see you on here. It's cool you are on your way to having your stepside back on the road. 10-4 on the snow. We haven't had much but it's been too cold to do much of anything here.

Re: 1969 Short Wide

I bought some new wheels for my truck from board member Laidbackrecreations
these are the new speedways from Billet specialties. I have already started lowering my truck. Waiting on some new shocks before I'm finished. here's a sneak peek.
SPECS:
front wheel 20X8.5 with 5.5 BS
front tire BFG 245-45-20
Rear wheel 20X10 with 5.5 BS
rear tire BFG 275-40-20
Front suspension: I'm running 3" drop springs and 2-1/2" drop spindles, stock control arms
Rear suspension: 5" drop springs with 2" blocks, rear diff is stock 73 up 12 bolt

Nice!

You should know better because you're going to be asked.... Wheel/tire size/specs?

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Wheels look killer! I'm in for the specs too, especially since the fronts have (2) different BS options. Those wheels fit perfect!

Thanks for the specs. That tire looks wide for a 275. Does it look like you room for a 295 out back?
