Need a Relay?

Got a pair of off road lights, LED 25 watts each. The switch is 12V 20 amp. Do I need a relay on that?

Thanks.

Re: Need a Relay?

25 watts at 12V is about 2 amps.

Re: Need a Relay?

About 4 amps for the whole shebang so I'm thinking no unless voltage drop is a big deal?

Re: Need a Relay?

The switch should handle the current of the 2 LEDs just fine. The only reason for a relay in this case would be to avoid any voltage drop that might already exist in the stock cab wiring. I would try without a relay and if the results are good, call it a done project.
