will a lift kit from a 1975 K10 work on a 1971 K5

Hello:
I have a 1971 blazer. A friend has a rough country lift kit for his 1975 K10 that he has never installed. He says it will fit my 71 blazer. I have looked at several companies that make their own springs. Their springs are listed by weight. According what I think I saw there. they will fit. Thanks for your time

I believe the springs are a different length. If I remember right ORD sells brackets to use the longer springs from 73 up.

Question Re: will a lift kit from a 1975 K10 work on a 1971 K5

if my "old" memory serves me correctly, even though the rear springs are the same length, the amount of lift will be different between square body and our 69-72s. i believe it's a 2 inch difference but check with the manufacturer first, don't take my word for it.

you are correct. A squarebody 2in lift kit says rear springs will lift it 2 inches in the rear. Yet 2.5 in kit for our trucks uses 4inch in the rear to get close to level.
Spring Strength ? Would probably be the answer

Always remember the Blazers of any year squatting in the rear with a lift. Think the truck springs are included in the off the shelf mainstream lifts, but Blazers are heavier in the rear. Old quick fix was to use an add a leaf to get the rear up. Firm ride was the consequences of that. Personally, I like the look of back squatting a bit on a 4x4. To each their own.
