Way to introduce yourself to the site noob. He's going with practical, not pretty. As VTBlazer said, "you don't get it." The rig he built this for is his wheeling rig....switches within easy reach, room for more, etc. I doubt he has a lot of use for a radio while he's rock crawling.

If you'd taken the time to read some of his other threads, you'd see that he's already built one beautiful, original style cruiser, and has made great progress on the body work for a resto-rod K5. I'm sure a nice clean dash, complete with a factory looking radio is part of the plans.

Sell your truck that you've "sunk too much money into" and move on.

with AJ...and he (VTBlazer) has an all original SWB truck that has a stock dash in it as well. Bottom line, he has built several of the nicest trucks on this site.

And lets try to keep the constructive criticism just that...constructive.

Why would you crap on someone else's work saying 'factory' this and 'stock' that when you aren't walking that line yourself?

Look at your own build, headers, a B&M floor shifter and sprayed in bed liner aren't exactly stock OR factory but quoting your own words, to each their own.

Re: Hacked Dash Option's?

I think vtblazers dash is perfect for wheelng and very functional. Like the others have said he has had some of the sweetest restored Blazers on this site. ie: medium olive stock Blazer, that thing was cherry !

Re: Hacked Dash Option's?

I think people should know something about the vehihicle before spouting opinions. What`s the sense in bothering to replace the dash center to keep originality for on a Blazer with the rockers cut out for rock-sliders,cages built for doors,a 1t Ford truck front axle,383,daul transfer cases, and anything modified that the owner felt would enhance it`s "Trail Rig" ability?Especially when that same member built a resto-mod Blazer that won truck of the Month here and on CK5 for such a clean Blazer that was all original except a modest lift and custom wheels and tires.

Hotrodkev,We just read what guys are doing and if we don`t like what they do we move on.

Not a very effective marketing ploy. Anywho, I love the aluminum dash insert you made vtblazer. I will do something similar to delete the ashtray from my vehicle to make room for toggles switches, as mine is a wheeler as well, not a trailer queen.

Thanks thor, welcome to the board.

Any links available to your blazer?
Would be interested in seeing it.

Re: Hacked Dash Option's?

Thanks for the welcome. As for a link to pics, nothing yet. Just doesn't feel right since she isn't moving right now - have to replace the fuel tank. Was thinking about stock replacement from LMC but have been very intrigued reading your post about FuelCellGuy's fuel cells. Seems like you are happy with it, especially the ground clearance. Wow! Any problems with install?

In all, I enjoy reading about your mods! Keep 'em coming!

The fuel cell was a fairly tight fit but otherwise it's been one of the best mods to date IMO.

Don't know about your current set up but you could consider a basic fuel cell in the bed or even go with a propane set up.

Eitherway, injected is the only way to wheel.
