17Oct04 Progress

Well, got the motor pulled and the heater off the firewall...
Not much time, but, a major feat accomplished Next thing is take the blazer to the body man to get the rust replaced. Might take a little time on that, need to save up some money. Just thought I would give an update...
Here is how she looks...




There she is...need the motor guys to give me an ID on the engine...and put some of the stuff I don't want on the parts board...who can I go to for a "what it's worth?" No clue on the value of any of this stuff

looks like it`s on the way. that thing doesn`t look as bad as i thought it looked before. it looks good around the windshield area. are the kick panels looking o.k? keep us going with more pics, eric.

Kick panels are good...

the places that need replacing are
rockers and floorpans both sides.

The floorpans only have small holes, but since I am going through the hole thing, I want it to be prefect...so I am going to go ahead and put all new metal in it.

There is a small hole on the firewall that I don't know how I am going to fix. I guess I can just get a piece of metal and take the bad part out and weld a new piece in...<shrug>

i`ve seen much worse, floors and rockers are inevitable. mine needs rockers/boxes, but the rear/tailgate and around the wheel wells are almost perfect. it doesn`t look like it would be too hard to cut that area near the gate and patch it though.

Yeah...I did a pretty lengthly look around before I actually took it home. The E-Satan pictures look pretty ruff, but when I went up there the guy was awesome. He put it up on a lift so I could look at the frame and trailing arms and the whole underneath. He did a full walk around with me. The rad support is perfect, the only rust on the inside was the inner fender. So, I have only been surprised with one rust hole that I wasn't expecting.

definetally look up tim christian on your replacement panels. i`ve met him in person and he is a 1st class guy.

That is what I hear from a few people. So, I will get what I can from him...
Although, WES, from Classic Heartbeat catolog says that they have original GM rockers. Not repro...so I may spend the extra money and get those, instead of the repros...

The repro rockers are much better then the NOS believe it or not, thicker metal, better fitting.
