The Aussie 68 & 69 Short Fleet Builds #Porterbuilt #Accuair #Delmo

Hi all

After looking around for 6 months at C10 forums and facebook groups I decided I wanted one, Then I saw this 68 on ebay a couple of months back and straight away thought I have to have it, I did a deal with the owner Jessie @ www.levelsevenmotorsports.com/ got her shipped across the US and she was on her way to Australia, the ship is due to dock on the 2nd November so I should have it in the next week or so (hopefully)

So I thought I'd start up a build thread, we're not going to do to much cosmetically to it just at the moment but we do have some power plant changes in mind, I work at GM Motorsport in OZ and we specialize in high performance LS work, so this should be fun..

The original build thread from the Level 7 guys is here http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=619283

Here's a few pictures of the way it was when I purchased it..

I have purchased some custom number plates (as we call them) which suit it perfectly

Hi mate, it's a 6.2lt Supercharged LSA engine, I think in the current Corvette engine in the US, down here it's fitted in our top of the range HSV GTS Sedan see below

http://youtu.be/UC9qnjOUjss

This is a new ute (pickup) they have just released, you truck guys will like this http://youtu.be/NM9xYeN7hsM

With cam & boost upgrade it should make around the 700hp mark

Re: The Old Blue 68 - USA to OZ....

Well its been ages since I've updated this, been getting parts together,

In the meantime we ended up with another truck so now we are doing the 68 and a 69

In the last few months we have stripped both truck and done a lot of rust repairs etc

Porterbuilt & accuair gear arrived last week so we are into it,

I will keep the updated coming from here..

Re: The Old Blue 68 - USA to OZ....

Got a little done on Saturday before the tempreture hit 40C degrees (104F) around lunch time, so called it a day..

Cut out the notches for the racks and started removing the rivets..

Have got almost 3 weeks of holidays now so going to get right into it.

Re: The Old Blue 68 - USA to OZ....

Plenty done today, flipped both the chassis over and removed all the rivets on the bottom, about bloody 50 of them, got the centre cross members removed and tidied everything on the underside, only the 2 rear crossmembers to remove, they are both being held on by 1 rivet on the top which I will remove when I flip them back over on Thursday
