Somebody get WES on this if he didn't grab the hood off that rusty Blazer a few months ago. We need someone to start making these again!

Re: craigslist truck with hickey hood

My old '70 Dodge D200 had a hood similar to that, but was factory. The hood in the CL add is cool. Anyone know the history on these hoods? From what I am reading above were they offered as a custom accessory?

If this was closer it would be mine. That hood would look great on my blazer.

I haven't seen one of the hoods in a long time and even not in person just in 4x4 mags! I would love to have it

Can someone school me on that hood just in case I ever come across one. Also what would be the value of one?

I just texted him....his bottom dollar on the hood is $200. I might be able to help someone out if you are interested in it.

Re: craigslist truck with hickey hood

I've got to be honest with you, I'm kind of torn on this hood. On one hand it's definitely cool and unique, but on the other hand it's kind of old school batman-ish. But Mondo, if you're close enough to pick it up, I'd jump on it for $200. I'm with midnightblues though, for $1000, just pick up the whole truck.

Re: craigslist truck with hickey hood

You're in Yelm... you can "hide" it at my parents place in Orting... where I can rip the engine out of it... throw you some bones, and then... well... I guess you're on your own after that.

Gary

I used to do this with my first wife. I would hide cars at my shop until the right time. Luckily she wasn't very observant and was constantly forgetting things. Drive to work in a Ford escort, drive home in a 61 olds super 88.
Her: "where'd you get that car?"
Me: "HAHA! You're funny! ..... Oh! I thought you were messing with me, you seriously forgot we talked about this all last week. This is the car!"
Her: "oh....uh.....yeah I remember now"

Seriously! That was an actual conversation.

Oh I'm almost CERTAIN that's the reason. When we got divorced she even said she would "NEVER go with another car guy EVER again". Funny thing is her brother and I were best friends, and he was just like me. If I was close, I'd buy this truck and post it up in storage until my current project is finished.

FYI, my current wife loves my car collection. Who knows, she might stay around a little while

Re: craigslist truck with hickey hood

Well, i just closed the deal on the hood. Should be a nice addition to my Blazer, which already has many Hickey add-ons. Shipping is a pain, but I've been looking for one of these for many years. BTW, it is an Eagle Enterprises hood. I believe this outfit got the mold from Hickey when they closed their doors.

Re: craigslist truck with hickey hood

That's a Cool hood but has nothing to do with the Hickey Company, like Cleszkie said its made by Eagle Ent. Hickey never used or even sold that hood for the 69 to 72 Chevy. They did use and sell the 73 up version and not sure why they never used the earlier version. You could buy that hood in 1974 for 159.95 from JC Whitney tho.
