Where did you get the new rubber around the dimmer switch? Never seen that part before.

Re: Slowly I build a truck

Thanks guys. Chevy88 - I was expecting the rubber grommet for the dimmer switch to be included with the carpet from Stock Interiors. When it was not included I called them and they sent it out right away no charge. I'm not sure if it was an over-sight that it was not included originally or if you just have to ask for it. Before I called them I looked around to see if I could just buy one, but I couldn't find it anywhere as a separate item.

Every carpet kit I have installed has had the grommet in the kit.

Re: Slowly I build a truck

I had to trim the head of the horn connection post to get it to fit in the sleeve.

Re: Slowly I build a truck

I was very pleased when the horn actually worked! This is a temporary seat (previously an armrest from a Dodge Ram truck). Right now I'm leaning towards upholstering the bench seat in black and white houndstooth.

Re: Slowly I build a truck

It's ready for a test drive. I'll do a nicer exhaust system after it's together, but for now I just painted what I have with POR20 exhaust manifold paint.

Re: Slowly I build a truck

First test drive! The power steering pump is noisy although I have bled it multiple times. I don't know if it's bad or if it's just going to take a while. All in all I'm very pleased.

Off to the shop to get the doors, fenders, and bed fitted. I know my limitations.

Re: Slowly I build a truck

Thanks guys. Doors, fenders and hood are as close to fitted as it's going to get with Goodmark aftermarket. The cowl hood was an impulse buy at the Moultrie Swap meet. I don't think I would do it now, but since I have it I'll sport it for a few years. If I decide I don't like it I can always swap back to an original one later.

I spy a mix of new and old in that shop; Mustang in the background.
