Re: 1972 White Suburban - the family toy

It worked well, but I was on pins and needles the whole time. We used the hoist to lift it high enough to get the 4x4s and wood blocks under the body then used the railroad jacks to lift it on up. We managed to drop the parts truck body, but it was in the backyard in the dirt. Round two was show time so I bought $60 with of cinder blocks and lumber to make sure it went smoother.

Re: 1972 White Suburban - the family toy

Been a while since I've updated this, but then again its been a while since I've worked on it. The 5.3/4L60E is in and getting closer to running. I should get the front end on this weekend.

Re: 1972 White Suburban - the family toy

Been a while, and progress has been slow, but this project still LIVES!

It now runs, and moves under its own power. Well, from 1 carport to the other. Ill post some updates next week when I actually get some time off.

Keep us posted! Looks like a great build. I'm glad this thread popped back up again. I saved all the pics of lifting the body off the frame. I'm going to have to do something similar. Thanks!
