LMC hood latch assembly with inside pull

Has anyone used one of these?

If so, thoughts?

Looks like a nice piece. However, I wonder if that paddle style handle is made of plastic or metal. Would really suck to have that break off.

Re: LMC hood latch assembly with inside pull

I haven't used one Rob but from the product description I don't see the advantage here. It says pull the cable then squeeze the hood latch to open the hood. If the hand lever is still on the latch then it could still be opened from outside right? And the hand lever is still clearly shown in the product pics.

I think the handle is just for the safety latch.

Let me get this right. It pops the hood all the way open? Product states that you still have to pull the original hood release. This is just a lock mechanism to keep would be thieves out.

Re: LMC hood latch assembly with inside pull

This looks pretty cool . I wonder if it has the safety like newer rigs .
Funny story , I was cruising down the interstate when I was 20yrs old in my 69 k20 doing about 75 mph and the hood popped open , "yeah scary" shattered the windshield and wrapped the hood over the cab . Needless to say from then on out I used a bungi cord as a safety mechanism. Good thing I was on a straight away .

Might also be a good add-on for someone using a billet style grill. That way you wouldn't need to use that extension rod piece to pop your hood. I like the idea.

That's exactly why I bought it. I'm running the billet inserts on my 68 and it was annoying getting under the truck just to pop the hood open every time.

Re: LMC hood latch assembly with inside pull

If my truck was a Daily Driver and/or kept outside all the time, then I can see the benefits. But, since I don't do either, I don't see the use.
Saw this in the latest Catalog.

Unhappy Re: LMC hood latch assembly with inside pull

Looks pretty nice but for $100.00 it should be a metal handle at least. I had one like this in my wifes old caddy 94 model it broke twice over a 10 year period. It would only pop the hood part of the way you still had to reach inside the hood to fully open it.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
