700 will be better. 200's came in the Grand prix and Regals etc, way lighter cars.

^ what he said. Although the 200 can be built very strong (up to 1000hp) and is reliable. The nice thing with a 200R4, it will fit in your truck with a lot less hassle, it should bolt right up, the only major thing is you have to move the tranny cross member back 6.5". You can also get a 200R4 that can handle 400hp for about $1600.

Re: 700r4 o4 2004r?

in reality either should b built to use for reliability and long use . at about the same price ,the 2004R has nicer gear numbers and works real well in these trucks// the 200 is direct bolt in replacement for the 350 eith a 6"tail that was installed in these trucks

i used a 200 from www.fbperformance.com

Ditto.
The 200 is what I am putting in mine.
Also, they put the 200 in the 9 sec. Grand Nationals
They also put them in the Caddies the weigh equal to or more than our trucks.

Re: 700r4 o4 2004r?

I would say to go with the 200R4. I can't wait for my th350 to blow up and give me a reason to get one, the extra gear would be very nice.

I had a stock TH400 in my 67 C-10.
Put in GM ZZ383/425HP Motor in.
Blew the Tranny out in 3 weeks!
