Motor Mount Question

I currently have this set of 72 BB engine mounts. I decided to go LS. I ordered an adaptor plate set but they don’t fit the BB clam shells due to the hump on them. So, do I sell these? If so, what is the best bolt in LS mount?

I would just get a set of earlier stock V-8 frame mounts and use the adapter plates you have. There are usually stock V-8 frame brackets for sale on the parts board. You can't post a "Want To Buy" unless you are a Premium member but you can buy them if you see some for sale. If you become a Premium member you can post a WTB on the parts board and also post your '72 set for sale. If you click on the word "Subscribe" on the menu bar above it will show the different membership options.....

Re: Motor Mount Question

Thank you for the flip and advice. I will sell these and purchase some after market stands. Wow, several years ago you didn’t have to pay to sell items. I’ll look into that

I used the POL stands when I installed the LS1 in my Panel Truck and the passengers side didn't fit worth a crap. Maybe it was just a bad jig set up when it was welded but I had to modify it to make it work.

The premium requirement to sell parts has been in effect since at least 2009 and I'm thinking even earlier than that (2005), but I couldn't find the post by Josh.

I joined this board in 2002, so I probably just missed the requirement. I don't have a problem with it. All signed up and the 72 mounts are listed.

I did just order a set of the Pol stands...I hope they fit. I read that a lot of people liked them.

Re: Motor Mount Question

I don't know if you care about modifying parts but why not just cut the triangle out of the mount?

If you would, post back here when you get them installed and let us know how it went. I think mine were just a fluke.....

Thanks,

Re: Motor Mount Question

ccp's new mounts are awesome , plenty of room to run headers or manifolds of your choice , 10 years ago when you were swaping ls's , most manufactures sugested sbc mounts for the engine side , and frame mount
