Canopy redo thread?

I thought I bookmarked it, one of you fellas has a build going that included the rebuild of your canopy ... long to short. Can someone point me to that please?

Re: Canopy redo thread?

C'mon I know someone saw it. It had a wood internal frame. Board member shortened it up to fit on his short bed. I believe he reskined it using the original metal and even the little bubble windows.

Re: Canopy redo thread?

That is easy with wood framed canopies. I had one rear corner get crunched on my old Huntsman camper. I pulled that section of the skin, rebuilt the framework, and put the skin back on. You can buy the material new, maybe not same pattern, from camper parts suppliers. Very expensive! I have had plans to build a camper or smaller canopy using aluminum tube. The canopy would be 1/4 luan/fiberglass laminate or all wood exposed under clear resin coat.
