Re: Frankentruck

God painted the sky beautifully this evening, so I had to enjoy it by sitting on the tailgate and reading His Word.

I also had to take some new pics of Frankentruck with the new caps and rings.

I used the waze app on the way back to figure out that my speedo is still reading slow, but not as bad as the old trans. The old trans read 10 mph slow, but the new one reads 5 mph slow. I just need to swap out the driven gear at some point to make it more accurate

Thanks Andy! This park was dubbed Sunset Fields, and many students here visit it frequently. It is a great place to hang out with friends while enjoying God's wonderful creation.

Thanks John! The Lord has blessed me in so many ways by placing me in a community that is based around Him and strives to do His work. My faith has grown a lot in college, and I am excited to see where the Lord takes me from here

Thanks!

The Lord uses so many things and situations to complete His work, and it just so happens that He has used the truck to show me places in my life that I need to improve

Thanks for the kind words, John. There's a chance that one day I'll have a truck farm similar to yours

Re: Frankentruck

Frankentruck turned into Tow Mater on Tuesday evening. Both headlights are still T3 sealed beams. Any recommendations for a brighter bulb? Not looking to spend a crap ton, and I would prefer a plug and play kinda deal since I'm daily driving the truck and I don't want to get pulled over lol. Thanks in advance!

Thanks Andy. Those look ok, just not exactly what I'm looking for.
Should have been more specific and stated that I was looking for a stock appearance but with better internals

Re: Frankentruck

I have been looking for headlights as well and have not a clue of what to get...I just know Im not payin 200.00 each...I like Scotts ( Kdad) lights but also like the Hella Lights as well. Speedway has the Tri Bars for about 70.00 a set.

I had actually thought about getting Bryan to install some "Fog Lights" in my bumper while he has it....Just not sure it will be cost effective but it would look really cool....but then would have to figure out how to wire them up...but Im sure I could figure it out....It would definitely give some light at night.

What I like most about the Hellas is the near factory look. It is also a plus that it uses a modern bulb so I won't have to change the whole bulb housing when the bulb dies.

The fog light idea is interesting for sure. I bet someone has already done it, and figured out how to wire it all up

I like the Hellas for that stock look also. Bonus that the bulbs are replaceable vs the entire light. Plus with Summit so close to you I figured you could just go there.

I bought my truck from that area and met the guy in the Summit parking lot and bought my truck there...so every time I go by there I have good memories.

I was going to do the Tri bars like Scott did, but I think I like these better. I am not paying $400 for lights either...got to do some things reasonably priced.

I am too! I'm still learning the transmission though because I have not been able to drive it a whole lot. Once I get it down good though, I'm going to enjoy it a lot. Heck, I enjoy it a ton now because I feel that I could drive out to California and back with no issues

Re: Frankentruck

Today I swapped out the 22 tooth driven gear for a 21 tooth gear in an attempt to make my speedo more accurate. Unfortunately, the 21 tooth gear just bounced around for a little bit, and now it almost never moves. I've driven the truck 10 miles at the most since I changed the gear.

I had used TCI's calculator and used a 8 tooth drive gear for the calculation. I thought I had counted 8 teeth on the drive gear, but now I'm not too sure. Should I make a new calculation with a 7 tooth drive gear, and purchase that driven gear with the hope that I will be right this time? Or should I stick the 22 tooth gear back in that I know works, but it runs 5 mph slow?
