Newly purchased, Lift and steering question

I picked up this 72 Blazer and it has awful steering and suspension. I am trying to determine what I have and where to start. Not sure of the lift size or details and was wondering how I measure it to find out. Here are a few pics. It looked like it had dual shocks front and rear but the fronts are missing. Not even drive-able as it wanders so much. It has Skyjacker shocks and also a dual skyjacker steering stabilizer. Tires are 33x12.50x15 Thanks

Re: Newly purchased, Lift and steering question

It looks close to stock height to me. I should have my wheels back on tomorrow, and I can give you a height measurement then - I also have 12.5x33 tires.

As far as the steering, having shocks would definitely help. I would take a look at the steering gearbox and the rag joint, plus all the usual suspects like ball joints and tie rod ends.

The rear spring looks stock - the height of the block under the spring pack should give you an estimate of the lift.

I totally missed that.

Stock hight is 21 3/4 on rear and front is 22 3/4 inches. Measure from center of hub to center of arch on wheel well. Whatever you get just subtract.

Re: Newly purchased, Lift and steering question

There's tons of pictures on here with ride height measurements. I probably posted 10 of them. Do a search.

edit; here's a link with measurements----> http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=754525
