what can i do for a short bed for my new baby. (not buy new). i read somewhere that 47-55 truck beds are wider but same length. chev of the 40s says 37-53 beds are same. a/d are 50" wide on the inside i read. 41 are 48.5 i read, can anyone confirm?

i can get a used 53 shortbed for $300 in decent shape, if its wider i'm assuming 3/4"(?) on each side wont mess with the running board/fender/cab alignment and it looks the same as a 41 bed???? wont look to big for the cab?

We ordered a whole bed from Mar-k I hope it is the right one !
They said it was for a 46, now that Dave gave us the numbers I will take some measurments

yes good old steel. now just gotta figure out all i need. can't believe how much window cranks are. what do you all do with the small battery compartment in the floor? enlarge it, or move the battery some place?

If you are not in a big hurry we may have a whole lot of extra parts left over after the build as I have noticed some duplicate parts, but I am not sure about the window cranks. If we put in electric windows I will let you know
