Re: Compact Under Dash Heater?

There are some available search aftermarket heaters the street rod people probably use them the most.

Re: Compact Under Dash Heater?

I use one of the heaters from jegs. I was able to hook it up to the defrosters also. I like it. I will look for the link to the one I have.

Re: Compact Under Dash Heater?

When I get to the heater install on my 72 blazer - I'm going with an aftermarket one like this one from Vintage Air. My firewall is shaved so I can hide it under the dash and still have heat/defrost.

Re: Compact Under Dash Heater?

This is the kit I used. The hoses connected directly to the defrost vents.

Re: Compact Under Dash Heater?

How about a factory recirculation heater that came in 47 to 53 Chevy trucks? It’s a very simple unit dimensionally almost identical to those aftermarket units in above posts. When restored they are actually a pretty cool looking piece. For controls they use a simple hand valve for the flapper for the defroster control and a simple switch for the fan, that’s it.

It comes with a 3 position switch and bracket. NO holes need to be drilled in the dash.

Look under projects and build for the thread: 67 C10 Green Gobblin. On the last page of the thread he installed a vintage air heater. Some good pics and information on the subject.
