I'm freakin out........

OK on my 67 C-10, it had (2) "Door Jam Vents", one on each side.
So I went and bought a Set of these (below):
http://www.dreamershotrods.com/marqu...yandgmcpu.aspx

I go to install them on my 72 GMC Short Fleet, AND THERE IS ONLY 1 VENT ON THE DRIVERS SIDE!

I'm an IDGIT. I went and checked the Pass Side 3 seperate times, to see if maybe they put the Vent location, someplace else.

I'm looking for a rational explanation for why it would be on a 67 C-10, but didn't carry out to my 72.
Is it because of a Design change?
A Chevy vs a GMC (I know that's a long stretch)?

So now I have 2 Vents and only used 1.

Re: I'm freakin out........

Don't know for sure. I didn't think that the driver's side vent was put in the cabs until 71 and 72 same as when the suspended gas pedal was added and I don't believe that there was ever a pass. side jam vent on Chevys at least.

Re: I'm freakin out........

Rsavage,
You could be right. It was always my understanding there were 2 of them.
Interesting that Dream Rods would only sell a "Set" of them.

GC,
Thanks for the link.
I have also seen this referred to as a "Gas Tank Vent".
Don't ask me HOW I know, but I believ that was what one of the Aftermarket suppliers called it.
