Rear end housing/wilwood brake kit help - What does yours look like?

Here is the deal - I am trying to mount up a new brake kit from wilwood to what I believe is a 12 bolt rear end from a c-10 but I am having some issues. The lip that you can see in the pic is preventing the bracketing from mounting flush. Wilwood seems to think the problem is with the rear end housing? Does this look right to you.

my 12 bolt has the same flange. Is your kit for a 12 bolt car rear? Or maybe the bracket goes on the back of the flange? What is the part number of the kit?

Kit 140-10093. It definitely goes on the front. Is yours from a car?

i had to make a spacer for mine, the old backing plate is not there anymore and you need to space it out were the plate use to be , and then it will mount up flat.

All the pickup 12 bolts that I've seen have that lip on the flange, that is what centers and holds the OEM backing plate in the proper location. I believe the 10 bolts do to, as well as the passenger car rear ends. The Impala SS caliper brackets that I've made accomodate that lip just like the OEM backing plate.

Sorry I couldn't help you with your Wilwood kit. It sounds to me like you either have the wrong kit, or it is an improper design....IMO.

Re: Rear end housing/wilwood brake kit help - What does yours look like?

Did you get this resolved or did you return the kit?

It seems you would have to either shim out to get flush with the lip, have the lip on the axle machined off or get the bracket re-sized?

I am looking at this kit (the smaller 12.19" version) and am attracted by the drum parking brake and reasonable price.

Any input would be helpful.

I ended up sending the kit back - I guess mine was one of the first sets sold and they made a mistake in production. I sent them some measurements and I believe they have corrected the problem.
