Turn signals not canceling

Left turn signal stays on after completing turn. Right turn signal cancels like it should after turn. All bulbs are good. I have never had the steering wheel off, Is there a spring in there that broke that is causing this? Its a 72 Blazer Thanks Jim

Re: Turn signals not canceling

There are little wire springs that cancel the turn signals, and when they break (the bent ends will snap off), the signals won't cancel. Left spring is a mirror image of the right spring. Hardest part is pulling off the steering wheel -- the springs are easy to replace. My local NAPA carries them, and I suppose any parts house does also.

EDIT: found a pic:

Re: Turn signals not canceling

Some people will accidently break the cam by holding the turn signal lever while turning the wheel....

Re: Turn signals not canceling

My turn signal switch did the same thing, I sprayed a 1/8th can of silicone lube in the turn switch and after a little use mine started working.
