Hi Guys, I got the cross-member notched last weekend. I assembled everything last night. GMCGrands, I am using the drop spindles already. What I am concerned about is the ride height. As you know, in order for the front suspension to have proper geometry the lower control arm must be parallel to the ground. When I aired the truck so the lower control arms were level to the ground, the truck was too high. I cut 1.75 inched out of the cross-member to move it up into the frame. I assembled everything last night and now I think its good. The pic you seen on page 2 of the truck assembled is now very close to how it looks @ ride height. I will post more pics soon.

Here is the update. I wanted the ride height to be very low tuckin 20's. But I plan to drive this truck. So the suspension must have proper geometry. This means I must move the cross-member up into the frame. Here are a few pics as I disassembled.

This is after a slight modification. I removed 1.75 inches to move the cross-member higher in the frame. I also removed the "bolt-in" feature. The cross-member is now a weld in cross-member. I have not welded it yet. I am only mocking up. I will weld it once I know it properly placed.

72cstc5, I didn't have to notch the frame for the rack. I still got 3/8 of an inch clearance.

Hi Guys, not a lot has been happening. I had sent the front wheels back to Forgeline to have the backspacing adjusted. I kinda lost a little interest after the Decator swap meet. If battling the wind all afternoon wasn't bad enough, I got home only to find the wind had picked up my perfectly painted hood and thrown it across my patio. Now I get to add another part to the list.

I got the wheels back and they fit good. Here is a pic
