WTB - Clip for Speedometer Cable

I'm looking for one of these clips that mounts on the firewall. Borrowed the photo from chewychevy67.

Patrick, have a pretty well picked over '70 3/4 ton carcass left but when it quits raining will check and see if I have such. If it's still there, consider it yours.

Re: WTB - Clip for Speedometer Cable

Patrick, spoke too soon, forgot my BIL has a ragged out 67 GMC sitting in the back corner of the property since he has no room for it. Took a look and it has that clip to the outside firewall with the speedometer cable hooked to it still. Any secrets or tips to remove the clip, not sure how strong it is to get very vicious trying to remove it? Did not look at the frame, it's settled down pretty well into the grass on a couple flat tires. Let me know if there is a preferred way to remove that clip without breaking it. There's one you can have, not sure if has a second one on the frame.

Re: WTB - Clip for Speedometer Cable

Excellent! I haven't ever removed one before. I'm thinking maybe a shot of WD-40 and maybe a pair of needle nose pliers to squeeze gently on the back of it while pulling it out of the hole. Or maybe a large prybar could be used to push it out of the hole from the back.

Re: WTB - Clip for Speedometer Cable

Success! Got the clip out with working it back and forth side to side with a straight screw driver and prying a little each time. Didn't find the one on the frame section, will get this one in the mail headed your way Monday.

Not a thing Patrick. Little enough repayment for all the help you've been for me in the past. Say the word and I can run it thru my balst cabinet, it's a bit rusty but is solid.

Re: WTB - Clip for Speedometer Cable

Will do, will take longer to build pressure in my air compressor that it will take to blast it, LOL.

It looks like you found a clip Patrick, Thanks to ironhorse. Good for you.
I looked at a 68 cab I have and it had 2 of the clips.
Let me know if you need another one. Dan

Thank you, Dan. I'd like to have some extras, as these clips seem to be a bit delicate. I'll send you a PM.

Dan, do you happen to recall where exactly the lower clip was located on the frame?
