making progress

This afternoon I went out and put a teaspoon of oil in each cylinder of the 250-6 thats going into my burb this spring. It was in my brothers 67swb. It's been sitting for a couple of years now and I just wanted to make sure it would still turn over and run well, when I fired it up in the spring. Then just for the hell of it I decided to pull the rear most side cover off of it and see just what kind of shape it was in on the inside. I was really surprised to see that it was super clean! Only has about 50,000 origanal mi's on it! so I guess the next thing to do is break clean the motor down (so I can repaint it) and pull the carb off and rebuild it. Now it's time for a question. I've been looking around on the inliners.org site and was reading that it is really easy to rebuild the ole mono jets. Is this true? I'd like to rebuild mine but have never takin a carb apart, + it would be alot cheaper to do it myself then to send it away! (on a real tight budget!) thanks in advance! -Brian

oh and I stuck this on the wrong board! could one of the moderators please move it for me to the right board! thanks.

Oh ya and when I pulled the side cover off it looked like it had some real heavy surface rust on the gasket contact area. So does anyone have a nice set of side covers that they would like to sell me cheap? And I also noticed that the oil pan was really really crustry also, so does anyone have an oil pan for a 250-6 that they would like to get rid of? Thanks -Brian
