^^ Anyone know the manufacturer of these slots ?

I think it's the current American Racing 17" 8 lug Ansen Sprint wheel. If so, thats a very rare image indeed, since ALL images on the web of ARE's current Ansen Sprint wheels only show 5 lug file photos.

http://asp.americanracing.com/wheels...shed&section=A

Apparently these wheels are only available in 17x9 wide for 8 lug now, which means you'd need at least an LT275/70R17 tire to fit that 9" wide rim which = about 32" diameter - maybe a bit too large for a stock ride hieght 67-72 C20 without rubbing. What say the masses ?

My Michelin 265/75/16s are a shade over 31.5" in diameter and they're not even close to rubbing.

Thanks Sickla, looks like your tires are almost identical in specs to the minimum required tire for these 17" slots;

Re: 8 lug wheels - what's on YOUR truck?

Just wanted to add another pic of American Racings current "Ansen Sprint" slotted wheel in 8 lug 17x9 configuration for anyone interested. Its been impossible to find any real pics of this wheel in the wild - all the pics out there are "file" photos of the 5 lug wheel. Not bad, pretty faithful to their original 16.5" 8 lug Ansen Sprint slots of the 70's IMO.

My 1972 Longhorn has Alcoa 16 x 7 wheels with the aluminum top hats and chrome lugnut covers. The rubber is Lt235 85r 16 Marshall tires. My 1972 Cheyenne Super has painted 9.50x 16.5 steel rims with 9.50 x 16.5 tires, and hubcaps.

Hey 70, if you don't mind my asking, where did you get the lugnuts for those wheels. I don't think stock ones fit the thread on the older trucks.

Hey Drew, did you need special lug nut to mount the center caps? If so, where did you find them? Thanks.

Re: 8 lug wheels - what's on YOUR truck?

I sold my 6" springs, 16.5 x 8.25 white PC'd steelies, and 37/12.50 SSRs I had for my '72. The plan now is 4" lift with 16 x 8 steelies with 35/10.50s and I still have a set of 9.75 x 16.5 aluminum slots with 35/12.50 BFG A/Ts

Go to eBay motors and search for "dual thread lug nuts" or "external thread lug nuts" followed by the size you need (1/2" or 9/16").

Two examples:
9/16": http://www.ebay.com/itm/32-LUG-NUTS-...f6765c&vxp=mtr

1/2": http://www.ebay.com/itm/32-LUG-NUTS-...aa701d&vxp=mtr

Did you look at post 289? Those in the links are for the 2001-2007 Chevy and GMC wheels as well as the Hummer H2s if you plan to use Chevy or GMC caps.

Re: 8 lug wheels - what's on YOUR truck?

If you're asking about the conversion duplex lugs like GM used (14mm) to hold 88-up center caps on* that are 9/16, a tire store should be able to hook you up. Possibly a real parts store, too. I get them from wheel accessory guys at big swap meets

*plastic lug cap screws on over lug to hold center cap

Re: 8 lug wheels - what's on YOUR truck?

There is a guy on eBay that sells the external thread lug nuts for our trucks in packs of 32. I got mine from him and I also found someone with new plastic lug nut covers as well as Dually center caps. Good luck!

They are 16 x 10 wheel vintiques. Ordered through summit. Cheaper than W/vintiques direct.
