Re: Show me your 68 Anniversary special!

Grandma bought it late '68, the original owner was T-boned in the bed and traded it in, she bought it from the dealship with the messed up bed and put that green one on, been on there since!

318k miles on it and all! Now victim of a Cummins transplant.

Re: Show me your 68 Anniversary special!

how do i know if its an anniversary edition? my buddy said mine could be because of the gold paint.
the cab is gold and white and it looks like the hood used to be, the rest has been raped by bad body work.

On the SPID it should read 4551AA Off-White/Gold or Ivory/Gold.

I believe this designates that its a 50th

Thanks man, I keep thinking to myself "Man, my grandma would tear me a new one if she were still around!" then I think again "She'd probably be in love once she drove it and saw the fuel mileage!"

It's been a fun project, I'm trying to use as much stock stuff as I can so it's easier to work on, not such a contraption of pieced together parts.

Re: Show me your 68 Anniversary special!

All nice trucks so far!
How many?I"ve lost count!
They're slowly trickling in.
Come on guys-Post em up!
Your chance to show it off!
I know of several that aren't here yet.
Did Ya'll know that Chevy celebrated all the big events with a gold car or truck?
In 55,62,68,etc.
Ours was for Chevy trucks from 1918 to 1968=50 years of Chevy trucks.
Mine has a 327/t-400,373 posi with buddy buckets.Has a spare tire hanger underneath and in the wood bed.
I've added factory air, cruise control,hei,tach,am/fm cassette under my seat to go with the 8-track player already there.Has air shocks too.as well as a coolant recovery system.
It has 59,000 mikes on it.
And plenty of patina!

Re: Show me your 68 Anniversary special!

The anniversity thing only pertains to Chevys and not GMC's, is this correct? I have seen a few Gold and White 68 GMC's I think.
