WTB Inner Door Handles-95-99

Looking to buy driver and passenger inner door handles from Tahoe, Suburban or Silverado pickup. Believe 95-99 will fit, needs to be for a tan / beige interior. Pics would be helpful to verify correct color, thanks.

Most part stores sell them pretty cheap. If you can't find the right color you can pop the handle out of the new assem. and put it in you original housing. That what I did and it works like new.

Yeah, you don't want used. Just went through this on my '95. I found out they all messed up and places like Advance Auto have them on the shelf (shows how common problem is). They had a blue LH in their selection. I still need to have them get me a RH, or maybe one will be in stock next time I check.

Re: WTB Inner Door Handles-95-99

Wound up getting an el cheapo replacement from local O'rielly auto parts house. Door back to operation again but what a cheap POS bit of engineering. Original GM handle was pop riveted to the door frame! I'm sure that is standard op now day, first time I had ever been into the door innards on this Tahoe. Not at all impressed with newer engineering and this is on a '99. Can't imagine what you would find on a much newer vehicle.

Everything is cable operated now and not made to last,or be repaired. Windows go up and down by cable doors open and close by cables. The little plastic retainers brake when trying to take off. It's a throw away world.

Re: WTB Inner Door Handles-95-99

It sure is. I struggle with my feelings of being so rigid to change. I wonder if I'm just getting grumpy. But the changes I don't like are those that take control out of my hands. It is fundamentally wrong and I feel it stabbing at my freedom. Non-serviceable? Isn't that absurd? Now some cars don't even have a place to put a spare tire. You can't even swap a spare on? You have to be a helpless needy person who allowed themselves to get into a bad situation. Not from not having a spare with air, a jack, or lug wrench. From simply buying a brand new car. I guess that's no problem as long as the car has wi-fi

Re: WTB Inner Door Handles-95-99

The throw away world statement is very accurate unfortunately. It applies to auto parts and autos/trucks both. Seems like a lot of the so called newer cars wind up in the "automobile reclamation site" which used to be called salvage yards. Cell phones, kitchen & house hold appliances, TVs, microwaves, the list is endless. We can't or don't fix anything today. I don't like it but I guess some call that "progress"

Re: WTB Inner Door Handles-95-99

It kills me to think of all the well made last forever tools, appliances, etc. that got junked because one part finally wore out after decades of use the repair was close to or as much as a new one. I don't buy that any more with my tools. I tell them I'd rather pay double to repair a well made old tool than replace it with Chinese crap for half as much

Re: WTB Inner Door Handles-95-99

That is what is nice about playing with the older trucks, they are made to be able to repair. The heater controls that were connected to the heater by cables instead of electric or vacumm. The lasted forever and were simple to repair. My wife has a 2011 Mustang that needs the dash taken apart to replace a motor for the heat control. All so we can just push a button. Don't get me going on the electric control modules for appliances. Two year old dishwasher needed a module that cost more than half the original cost of the machine.

Re: WTB Inner Door Handles-95-99

i had a new 2009 silverado crew cab for just over a year. sold it and bought the '95 rcsb sierra i just sold, and replaced with a my current '98 ecsb.

the 2009 was a nice pickup, but i keep telling people it had no soul. haha. honestly i would take my 1998 over it any day of the week.

the gmt400 platform is still my favorite to work on based on ease, i prefer 73-79 square bodies for looks. but have really enjoyed both the 1995 and 1998 pickups from a comfort standpoint. the 98 will probably stay around my place as long as i can keep it on the road.

Re: WTB Inner Door Handles-95-99

Seems like all the aftermarket ones available are tan. I got tan ones and pulled the pins to use my blue bases with the new handles. the handles themselves that are what breaks are black
