Re: Looked what I pulled out of a barn...

And the rear springs said Ahhhhhh!

I have noticed this before and your truck also has it, the rear wheels look a little forward in the wells, is this a trait of short bed trailing arm suspension? are the rear leaf spring short beds the same? Or is it just a trait of shortbeds in general?

Still a cool looking top. I think my neighbor had one just like it back in the day.

No offense intended. My apologies if it sounded any differently. Just my personal opinion is all.

Yes. 67-70 trucks have a 1.5" narrower rear axle than the 71/72 trucks. Combine that with the factory 6? inch wide wheels sucked deep into the fenders and they will "appear" too far forward. Put some more modern wider wheels on it with an offset that pushes them out towards the fenders and it will appear different.

Re: Looked what I pulled out of a barn...

Very nice truck...I grew up in Weaverville and when I saw the first pics I thought it was a truck I know of...but I see a Canton tag on the front so its not the one I was thinking of.

Kudos for planning to leave it as is.

My 72 looks that way in pics taken from certain angles too.

On leaf spring Longhorn trucks the rear axle sits forward in the wheel well too. I honestly think they're all like that from the factory.

Re: Looked what I pulled out of a barn...

Here's Joesjunk's 2023 mile truck and the rear end looks the same as this one.

ATP, it looks so much nicer with the dust and mold off of it. Sure is a nice truck!

Did a little more scrubbing on Patti today. I will post pics later. I discovered a little rust in the tank so will be replacing it if anyone has a good one.
