For your reference, here's my K20 with BDS 4" lift springs and BFG 33" on 16.5 rims. its pretty tall for me.

Anything higher than 4" and you start getting into driveline angle problems and may require a lowering cross brace for the tranny and transfer case.

As for brands try Skyjacker, Tough country or BDS, there may be others places aftermarket company's to check like http://www.sdtrucksprings.com for or example.

After trying the gas charged shocks i'd recommend using hydraulic shocks for a softer ride as well, gas charged is mainly for off road use and can add to a rough riding truck. I have the gas charges Fox shocks right now, save your money and find a good set of Bilstine or other brand of hydraulic shocks.

One more thing to consider, your going to need longer brake hoses, this place has DOT legal braided steel plastic coated lines. http://www.offroaddesign.com/index.htm
