Re: Saw this one for sale today...and guessing it will be there awhile...

It's a SWB Super Cheyenne with AC tilt tach AM/FM PS PB, has low original miles and looks really good in the photos - I think it could realisticly bring at least $14-15,000 if it is what it is being represented as. It doesn't appear to need paint. If it were mine, I wouldn't sell it for less than $15000. I saw a chopped longbed into a shortbed 4X4 on ebay a couple of weeks ago with an opening bid of $18000 and it was bid on.

As brought up, I question the cargo light not being there, didn't all supers have them? As also said finding a original swb super in this condition for $8K give me a break, you don't see them for that price around here. I will say its over priced at 22K, more in the 12K-15K range is right

you can always drop the price, never raise it. If guys on here keep thinking there trucks are worthless, then that is where they will stay. If I told what I have in my Blazer shell, most here would think I was either nuts or plain stupid

I agree with randy on the pricing.
I also thought the cargo light was standard from late 69 and up on the cst and cheyenne trucks.

I wouldn't give 22k for it....nope, not even close...
In looking at CL trucks in comparison today there's way too many that seem just as nice for much less....
I kinda liked this one....for 16k less....

Not really my color, but I'd drive the heck outta it....

You gotta compare apple to apples. That is not even close to the same truck. Not a Super, No Tach, No Tilt, Not a short bed.

While I agree it is not a 22K truck it is certainly worth 12K - 15K. The only thing hurting that truck is the fact it is a small block.

Not sure that anyone is "poo poo'ing" the truck. As the only one that's actually seen it in person, I can tell you it's in great shape. Awesome truck. Just overpriced. And no offense to anyone here, but creating a username and a password for a forum doesn't mean that my opinion changes about your truck...it is what it is, member or not.

Re: Saw this one for sale today...and guessing it will be there awhile...

my be overpriced for my area, there are many short bed and long bed trucks around here still used as work trucks and are several sitting and rotting.I'm not saying that the truck isn't worth that if its legit i don't know the area. I for one don't really care if the trucks i buy are high option or plain jane 6cyl. trucks options don't matter to me. You can still find good deals here i got my wife's 67 swb for 1600 and with a bed full of new parts and and the rust has aready been taken care of. just my 0.02

I'm kinda partial to the paint scheme myself. Mine is a 4 wheel drive and I don't have that much in it but I wouldn't take that much for it either. Nice truck.

I don't think anyone is poo pooing the truck it's self. But the price does appear to be a bit high for one even in what appears to be really nice condition.

The bad is that it hasn't been cleaned up and detailed. The good is that it hasn't had a detail job or a spray bomb job on the engine that does more bad than good. What you see is what you get.

My guess is that the seller is either hoping that someone with more money than sense will flat fall in love with it or he is giving him plenty of room to bargain or take a trade. and you can always come down but it isn't easy to go up.

Re: Saw this one for sale today...and guessing it will be there awhile...

If that's the shop I'm thinking of, it's on the west side of Weatherford Texas on HWY 180. ( I grew up in Mineral Wells, which is about another 25-30 west further down 180.

The old guy(s) who run that shop have always been super proud of their stuff. I remember going in there as far back as 15-20 years ago and they didn't have the time nor the inclination to want to talk to a 16 year old kid that wasn't flashing daddies credit card around.

Later on (probably two maybe three years after my initial encounter there) I went back, actually looking for BBC parts as I was in the process of rebuilding the 396 I found to convert my '68 to baby rat power. The guy running the place that day was STILL being a huge jackass to me (being unwilling to answer questions or even put a solid pricetag on ANYTHING they had inside the store).

I get the impression that they only part with their stuff on pain of death or when there are enough 0's behind the two digit number you offer them.

In all actuality they probably just run the place as a kind of clubhouse, and the only reason they keep it open is to appease their wives.

Never stopped thru there again, although I still enjoy driving by and seeing what he has parked out front.

I don't even go look at prices there anymore (when I'm in town) as I know it'll be a huge waste of time and just irritate the hell out of me.

Isn't the price pretty high though?? I mean, it's a nice truck, but $22K?? Admittedly I'm pretty new to these trucks, but it just seemed a touch out of line with what I've seen around. I'd think that was more of a frame-off resto price.

I will agree that is a mid teens truck. The options and condition justifies that price range in my opinion. My range would be $12-15,000.

Not a SWB makes a HUGE difference in resale price.

Yep, that's the one the truck is at. Right by the split heading out to Mineral Wells. That's actually where I was going to/from when I saw it the other day. I went in for a minute to talk to the guy about it and he said he's had it since the mid 80's or. He was pretty busy chatting with an old Army buddy when I went in, and I can see what you're saying about the "clubhouse" thing, I definitely got that vibe. As well as a little bit of the cold shoulder as soon as he realized I wasn't a potential buyer.

At the end of the day, it's his truck and he can ask whatever the heck he wants for it. I've had high price tags on mine before if I wasn't pressed to sell, that's just the way it goes sometimes. As well, it's his business and he can run it however he wants. Just means that he's probably losing a few potential customers along the way, that's all. To each his own!

6-8k....LMFAO....are you guys serious!!???

That truck would bring close to double that allllllllll day long in my area. A rust free cheyenne super SWB....lol

I'll buy every true cheyenne super for that price as much as i can find em. because at the end of the day you can make a few g's off of em practically overnight.

Now dont get me wrong, he is high on the price but some of you guys need to pay attention to these truck prices a little better.

I want links to all SWB supers at this 6-8k price point. oh yea, must be original, no rust with tilt and ac lol

Looks like a repaint to me. No firewall lettering over the heaterbox. Looks like the outer grille is a repop too. As such, with the seller's claims, I'd question the authenticity of everything on it. But it is a nice looking truck. I'd buy it and drive it, not at that price though. Not at 1/2 that price either, but I'm cheap.
