That's NUTS!!!

Speaking of CJ's, my dad owns an 83 CJ-7 (he's the first owner) with a rebuilt 258 six (.030 over, high lift cam, 4 BBL intake, headers) and a stock suspension and body. It's really rusted out, so we're working on locating a new tub with the JEEP emblems stamped into the front of the tub (just before the door hinges) and then we'll do a frame off resto. It's his baby, and that's why I was looking for tires like what 1969 GMC has because they look a lot like the original tires and he wanted to keep that look on it.

Golf is my most regular outing but going out on the quads with my wife and daughter to the Oregon sand dunes is a close second. Sorry guys grew up hunting and fishing. went 4 wheeling in my 20's drunk off my arss. In my 30's couldn't afford to do anything while my daughter was young, buying a house etc. Now I'm just nuts to hit a ball and then go chase it.

Hey 694x4, I've wanted a rail since I was a kid, did you build that yourself? My only problem is that it's have to be road legal as otherwise I'd never get to drive it much.

Well i traded a set of used sportsman II heads for it. It was most of the frame, some bald and rotted car tires and some of the parts in cardboard boxes. So i guess i built it but i didn't fab the main frame. I did all the beefing up (about 1/3 of the frame work) seats, motor, belts, tires, trans, steering, and about 1,000 other misc. things. My advice is to buy one already done and mod. it to suit you. I like the fact that everything is how i want it and i learned alot about vw doing it but i could go out and buy a nicer buggy for about what i have in it. I don't know about where you are but here in ohio its kind of a tricky thing to get it realy legal. Most people use a title for a vw bug and put the plates on it but if you were to ever have an accident i think the insurance company would say you are on your own.
