Factory tach dash

Hey guys I got a lead on a factory tach dash I'm going to get for $225. Looks like a good deal, I may have to replace the bezel but that's no biggie oh, they're only like 40 bucks. Question is I converted to HEI last year with the kit in the link below. Anyone have any experience here is that tack going to work with this kit?

Shouldn't have any problems. I have 3 trucks that I have ran with factory tack's & HEI with out any problems.
My 71 is now all digital though. The other two though.

After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Hey Andy, when we were swapping ideas on our dashes you had just finished one for your daughters c10. Pretty sure its the one in the vid. did you order a new bezel for it? Or paint/clean the OEM one up? I am debating what to try, I will need one regardless. If you bought one and are happy with the quality shoot me a link to where you got it pls.

Yes my daughter's cluster, I used Wal mart Chrome paint around the gauges & outer rim. I then sprayed the black. I think it turned out nice. The LED's really helped it.

Re: Factory tach dash

I have a question, I have a 67 C10 with the factory bezel gauge cluster, My two part question is since my factory one will be replaced with a factory setup that will have a tachometer and vacuum gauge, Should I use a tach filter ? (Bought the filter BTW) and will I run into any problems because now the new one doesn't have the factory choke and the wiper switch will be where moved to the where the choke was ?

To answer some of your question's. Buy a 71 bezel and move the wiper over to the right side of the column. You will have to extend the wires to do this. That's what I did on my 68 that I painted. No it want hurt a thing the tach doesn't care. It has it's own wiring harness to plug up.

The tack should work fine but other's have had problems with them. I never have.
The shifter indicator was installed by member Randy500 when he did the column for me.
Here is a link that you can try though that sells them.

Re: Factory tach dash

So will I need a new wiring harness coming from a std. 3 hole dash to the full gauges? I knew I would need to wire up the tach and change the oil sending unit. but thought the other stuff (temp/DC) was plug and play.

Nope you don't have to buy a new harness but you will have to swap some of the wires in the cluster connector for it to work. The electrical sections has everything you need to know.

I would try it without the filter first. You will have to extend the wires for the new wiper switch location as Andy mentioned in his reply above.
