1972 side moldings
Has anyone drilled extra holes like the earlier trucks to hold the side trim on better instead of using the 3m adhesive tabs the 71 and 72 went with. Just seems like it would work better.

I'm in the process of doing that. Bought all the clips and going to drill the holes.

That's how I've always done it. Never been a big fan of stickum on vehicles

I put the new lower trim on mine and just used some of the old clips along with some new ones. Funny looking little gizmo with a wire spring that glued on to the moulding.Do not know what kind of caulk was used originally but I remember I had quite the time getting the clips off the old trim.Maybe your talking about the upper molding which might be glued on I’m not certain about that.
