Throttle cable

I'm changing out the rod throttle assembly on my 70 to a 71/72 cable type. I just picked up the entire assembly from a 72 at pick a part. Since the grommet is trashed as well as the plastic piece that locks the cable into the pedal assembly, I'm getting a new cable. They list 2 parts one for 2wd and one for 4wd. What is the difference?

Re: Throttle cable

My guess is length - 4wd motors were set closer to the firewall so I suspect the cable for a K truck is shorter.

Correct. You will want the 4x4 or shorter cable if you are in the rear mount holes.

Re: Throttle cable

I could not find the proper length cable myself . Ended getting the longer one and modifying it myself .
