Re: 67 long box

It's not the easiest way but I can say I did it. First coat of black for shadowing the letters, move the stencil and next colour.

Moved the stencil , three shades of silver to get the look to match the saying. I'm not sure what I can't do. LOL

I tried to find replacement pieces without success and there aren't any. I could have cut a section out of another cab if I could find one but I couldn't. I made all the pieces from scratch. I took lots of pics during it and I can post some if needed. It was not easy but it can be done.

Re: 67 long box

The door logos look really good! And I also agree on the caps. They look good in the first pic, but in the second one where you can really see the wrinkle, not so much. I do like the caps though.

Re: 67 long box

Ya the wrinkle paint was not my plan I grabbed the can of spray clear after putting on the C10 logo. The first coat of clear went well, the second coat was the wrong can of spray. It was wrinkle black, I managed to wipe the black off the letters but it mucked up the smooth surface and then wrinkled. I'm not paying 50 bucks for four stickers emblems. So yup back in the blaster and start over.

It's hard to believe it looked like this. Top op pic 2 years ago, 1 year ago and now.

Re: 67 long box

Took off the paint and on to round two. I had to pick up some more letters at another Walmart as I bought the first store out. I wish the door art was as easy as putting on stickers.

Thanks, it started off just fixing the rust holes in the cab to being a complete resto-mod but I'm real happy.

The all important cup holder, custom made as usual. Now to install the seat and bolt it to the front seat steel bar.

Re: 67 long box

Cup holder looks retro, can't have a plastic one. Same vinyl as the dash, door panels, speaker box and sun visors.

It's hard to believe the 67 was a big truck back then and now the new one looks like a monster truck

Had a great day, A/C is charged and the truck is blowing ice cold air. Vintage air system sure fit works and fit in great.

Re: 67 long box

Revisiting an old idea for the spare tire, I still like it but it will not be easy. Just need to re-engineer the cross supports for the bed and mount a well for the tire. I can see it doable.
