build sheet engine decode

Hi guys i was trying to figure out what my 69 c10 came with for a motor originally and the code on the build sheet is UA. Also the color or the spid says custom paint and the build sheet says 1001fc custom paint. I was also wondering if anyone could decode my paint color. Thanks.

Re: build sheet engine decode

SBC, UA in 69 could be a 292 I6 or a 307 V8. The second letter of your VIN will tell if your truck came with a 6 or a 8. If your VIN starts with CS then it's the 292. If your VIN starts with CE then it's the 307.
Sorry I can't help with the special paint code.

Re: build sheet engine decode

I also just found the paint code ZP3 I think 1001fc just means custom paint but i could be wrong. Its original paint and its a greenish color.

My 70 chevy has the special paint 1001FC and it is orange like some state or county trucks.

Re: build sheet engine decode

Link to the generic information kit from the GM Heritage Center archive, for a '69 Chevy pickup.

http://www.gmheritagecenter.com/docs...olet-Truck.pdf

I didn't open it up but usually this will address engine codes, two tone breakups and any other generic option content available for the model year. It probably will not have much to say about the special paint option.
