6-cylinder gurus,... 292 or 250?

I had a 65 with a 292 that was bullet-proof and I mean bullet-proof. Started with just a bump under ANY conditions and never died or even needed ANY maintenance except oil for the 3 years I had it. I never changed plugs or anything. Finally traded it to a farmer for a 67 Shelby Mustang he had in his barn. (Son bought it when fighting in Vietnam and never came home - thank you for what you guys gave.) He couldn't stand to see it and needed a truck. The mustang was pink though. PLayboy pink as it turned out. Anyway, I was too young to recognize a Shelby and it also had pearl Playboy emblems embedded in the dash and some other extra accesories far and above the usual AC, automatic. Drove it for a year, a girl in high school kept bugging me to buy it, I was tired of passing everything but a gas station so I sold it for a grand. Bought the 65 for 500 so I thought I made a good profit. Her Dad saw it, took it, bought her a new Honda Civic, restored the Mustang, drove it back to my house and said it was one of 20 made to Commemorate some anniversary of Playboy. Could have gone without knowing that but back to my point, the 292 is THE MOST DURABLE engine I have ever owned, thirsty though as well.
