The seller was actually making a trip out east to Rhode Island, Connecticut and Maryland dropping off some other cabs, so it was nothing for him to stop in NJ and deliver it to me. We worked out the details and settled on a very decent shipping price. So I decided to take a chance and bought it. Turns out it's probably the best decision I made for this build.

Re: Project "Redemption" 68 SWB Fleetside

I put the ne cab on the frame today, wanted to see how it looked It's going to stay there for a while, I'm getting surgery on my knee the 22nd to repair a partially torn patella tendon along with a minor meniscus tear recovery is 6-8 weeks so the truck is going to be pushed aside until the new year.

Thanks guys, hopefully the recovery process is quick. I'm going to go nuts if I can't go to the gym and work on my truck

Wow, I'm jealous. That's a great looking cab! Hope you heal faster than expected. I wouldn't miss the gym, but I'm always out of sorts when I can't work on the truck. Good luck!

Hoping for a quick recovery. Today's knee surgery is amazing at how quick they put people back on their feet for rehab.

Re: Project "Redemption" 68 SWB Fleetside

hey Keith do you know
i been look at PB for cross members i bought an early classic trailing arm member from someone on the board so I'm going with that Im going to do 4-6 static drop i have all of those items i see PB has a rear C member and they show a panhard bar member I'm wondering if the panhard member replaces the stock member or its in addition to all that extreme bagged lowering member your using? before i call them and they find out that i was the slow kid in the class i just want to replace the stock c members where i can without the big $s

You don't need the panhard bar mount from Porterbuilt with just a 4/6 drop. Just run a adjustable track bar like the one from ece and you'll be fine. If you looking for c-notches, the Porterbuilt ones are hard to beat because of the design strength of the 2 piece notch.

Re: Project "Redemption" 68 SWB Fleetside

This is what my days look like now my little guy seems to enjoy it. I'm making pretty good progress though, already off crutches and my physical therapist says I'll be back to 100% in no time. Which is good because I can't wait to work on my truck again.

Re: Project "Redemption" 68 SWB Fleetside

Cool build...I am with you on the new cab choice.
I build Car's,Truck's etc. for a living and I have told Customer's they would be better off getting a better donor! To save them money in the long run, and it never goes that way and I end up replacing a TON of metal. Hope you get better soon and back to the build.

Mark...

Re: Project "Redemption" 68 SWB Fleetside

I know what it's like to be laid up and unable to work on my project... or even drive for that matter. Stir crazy doesn't really even describe it.

Being off crutches is a good sign, so keep up the rehab and it will all be in the rearview soon.
