Starter help needed

So, I picked up a new starter motor for my truck yesterday and the mounting tabs seem to be different than the original. It does not fit, and I don't see another option. I've checked out multiple sites for the bellhousing-mounted starter options and they all seem to have this "extra" bolt hole that my original did not have. This is a 4 spd manual. Please help me get moving forward on my project again

Re: Starter help needed

That looks like the starter for the big trucks. The spaceing of the bolt holes were different on the 2 ton & larger trucks. Though all of them I have seen have the 3 bolt holt mounting up to 73. The 73 up with aluminum bell housing bolt up to the engine block with 2 vertical bolts. You can put your drive end housing on the new starter.

Damn! I already returned it as the core. I'm going to have to see if I can get it back. I'm sure that would void any warranty though right?

Re: Starter help needed

Just called the parts store and they still have my original, so I'm going to grab it so I can swap the nose cones. Thank you for the help!
