Re: 22's on a 71 static drop any out there ?

The 22s are sweet, but I'd agree with going lower if you had them. If you do bags now with your current setup, it'd look killer and you could swap out wheels somewhere down the line if you wanted. I think that the bigger the wheel, the lower you have to go. If I personally had plans of going with a bigger wheel down the line, I'd want to drop it first because I think the proportions still look right with a smaller wheel.

Re: 22's on a 71 static drop any out there ?

I think it looks good but I like the idea of bagging it more than getting new rims. Your current Intro's are one of my favorite wheel designs. I say keep them and bag your truck. It will look sick with your Intros and bags. Like David said you can always sell the Intros down the line if you still want 22's. How do you want on bag it, are you going to go mild C-notch or are you planning on cutting/raising the bed floor.

Re: 22's on a 71 static drop any out there ?

The single mod that I have gotten the most compliments on has been putting air bags on my truck and second is the new wheels. If I had to do it all over I would had started with bags right out of the gate.

Those wheels are entirely too small for a bagged truck.. just sayin.

This thread is making me re-think things over. I'm currently in the market for wheels, but just might get bagged instead.

leave the wheels alone....

Bag it if you have $$$ burning a hole in your pocket. I go through the same issues so I bought a tahoe instead....lol

Hector, your killin' me!!! put some 15 inch rally's on it are raise it back up, that way I can quit hiding mine! Now on the serious note - leave the Intro's on and bag it.

Re: 22's on a 71 static drop any out there ?

I'm biased since I have 22s, but I think you can't get a good reading on if it needs to be lowered or not without the rears being on. 22's on a 4.5/6 drop looks perfect if you ask me...I like how the wheel fits in the wells on that drop.

Since you said it's not a big upgrade to pick up the 22's, I'd do the 22's 1st and the start to pick up parts to bag it...22's and air bags are kind of a combo deal haha

i do like 22's on other peoples rides because most of them are bagged, but its kinda hard to pull the trigger after seeing them on mine. lucky all i have is time to decide on what to do next.

I vote bags and put a 22 inch wheel on the rear and leave the 20s up front.

Re: 22's on a 71 static drop any out there ?

Hector that truck you posted is a customer of Jose's. I talked with him quit a bit but at that show. The axle is narrowed, but I "think" the tubs were stock. Those are 12's not 14's which looked great except those 25 series tires are to small for me.

I feel the 22's might look a little better, but they would not have the huge impact that bags would. Bag it first and change wheels later.

Text me when your ready to get started.
