Re: Anyone interested in a schrader/bag kit?

Im interested in a budget air bag kit for my '59 with '79 camaro subframe. I'd like to run bags front and rear. Im going to retain the leafs and have the bags only supplimental in the rear for now. Then some sort of four link down the road after the rest of the mods are done on the truck. I would like to get some information and possibly a quote from you. Live in AZ 86001. Thanks, Nik

The back has two barb fittings built in. It uses 1/4" line. Here is the back of the gauge panel I made for my truck.

Re: Anyone interested in a schrader/bag kit?

I missed some of the information in your posts. I would like to order a kit for just the front for now. Then a rear kit when my bank account replenishes itself! How do I make the order? Also, my truck has a '79 camaro subframe. Do you have those brackets? are they the same price? $165 plus shipping? 86001

I would have posted up Jason's manual setup, just didn't see it is all. No offense Jason!

Honestly, if you bought all the parts. It would run about $250. I could put something together with all the parts you will need. It would cost $200.

Jason
Can you put me together a package price on the bags, mounts and the manual control you have along with the lines and fittings for my 65 C10? I have a tank and compressor.
Thanks
Jimmy

That would be just the rear. $300 for front and back.

Re: Anyone interested in a schrader/bag kit?

ok..... im way new to this air bag thing so i have a few questions if u dont mind.. whats the differance between the Donimator 2600lb air bags and the slam spec RE-7 bags people are using ?
do the bags just sit in the brackets or are they bolted in? is all the hardware included?
with the schrader valves with bushings for the bag ports do the valves sit right on top of the bag? do i drill thru the frame for them? can i run some kind of air line to somewhere else so its easier to fill the bags? thank would it be like airing a tire and check the pressure with a tire gauge or is there something else to use to make sure the bags have enough air ?
is there a way to have 2 lines (from each bag) connect to 1 valve so it fills both at the same rate?
i have a 69 short fleet that im building that is still a roller so im not needing everything just something to keep it a roller until im ready to complete the build with tanks an motors ?
sorry for the questions just very new ti bagging...
thanks
oh and shipped to ca 95117.....

You can mount the schrader valves anywhere it's convenient to fill them w/an air-chuck. The bags get a standard airline fitting & the schrader attaches @ the opposite end for filling. The fittings are PTC (push to connect) & utilize DOT plastic airline. A basic set-up such as what is being described in this thread would use a tire gauge to verify air pressure.

You could connect them that way but it would suffer from pressure transfer upon compression/extension (Going around a corner & the vehicle will lean. With bags connected to 1 line, that lean is amplified because as the bag on one side compresses the air is forced to the opposite side where it causes even more extension.) The better method is independent control @ each bag/corner.

This would be acceptable for one fill line 'T'd to allow filling both bags as the vehicle is not operating & going around corners.

thank you scoti for the reply and explaning how it works.
another question... how do the bags or bag mounts mount? would i be drilling thru the frame (rear) for the fittings or lines to go thru or does it mount so the fitting mounts on the a side of the frame?
and does this kit come with all the seperate hardware/lines for each bag?
thinking this is the way i want to go and want to learn as much as i can...
off topic question but are the comp. in the mags any good ? i see the ones buy 2 bags get 2 free or buy the whole air ride kit for 1399 any good? i would really like to find 1 place to purchase everything rather than buying 1 pc here 1 pc there, just think it would be less of a headach for me..

Use any of the vendors that support this board & you should avoid any problems. I would start w/the vendor that started this thread!

Jason
I am about ready to order and if you could PM me a total for the bag kit for my 65 with just the schrader valves as listed and a set of 2 1/2" drop spindles to fit the 83 front I have with 1 1/4" brakes. My zip is 23072.
Thanks
