trucks so big it makes those tires look small. in the first pic I recognized the tread pattern, but couldn't believe they're 37s, they look small. Side pic they look big though. That's what I was thinking of doing with mine, I've got dually axles under it, which is cool, but I cant do much about bigger tires, so the 6" in the front looks kind of funny with little weenie tires. I thought to fit 37s I'd have to put in a bodylift, but yours looks to clear them up front ok.

The PO had the motor built, I don't know the specs. Much more power than stock though. It's just old pin striping on the windshield, it used to have a bowtie in the center. Haven't bothered removing it because it needs a new windshield (faded to gold at the top).

About three inches of lift, tires measure about 36". They are a 9.00x16 bias ply.

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs

You can't link them from Facebook.
Has to be something like photobucket.

Or check the link in my sig on how to upload from your hard drive.

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs

Hello,

New to the forum and looking for some insight. I'm running an 89 CCLB that one of you guys posted pic of for me (thanks) and wanted to know what shocks you guys have tried. I realize this is a heavy 1 ton truck that was never meant to have soft ride. however i do plan on using mine off-road and would like it to soak up the bumps a little better. I'm not afraid to shell out some cash for something that works, within reason as shocks can get ridiculous. probably could stomach $800-$1000 tops. My current setup is 6" skyjacker softride fronts, zero rate overload spings in the back and ORD shackle flip and ORD extended length schackles and some standard 6" lift hydro shocks. Any help apperciated!

Nothing is really "wrong" just looking to be able to go through the rough stuff a little faster and have it soak up a little better

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs

Its been a while since I was into the 4x4 stuff but from your list of suspension parts ... it seemed fine but perhaps someone will chime in to help or at least add some info.

I don't have a truck with a big lift, but my 07 K2500 is leveled so I put 0-3"+ Bilsten 5100 shocks on and they are by FAR the best shocks I have ever had on a vehicle. I am sure you can get them for your application if you would like to try them. Soaks up the washboards in the gravel roads with ease. My buddy gave me crap for spending extra money on them until we went for a ride and he was sold on them.

How do you like the softride springs in the front? Any real noticable different to a normal lift spring?

I really like them, and they definetly have more give than traditional heavy duty 3/4 or 1 ton lift packs. They allow the suspension to cycle more and I think once i find the right shock to go with them the truck will ride awesome

Good to know, was considering this for my CCSB build coming up soon. That is if I don't decide to link it with a kit from ORD.
