Re: Come on...no way is this for real!

No TL bezels is probably correct. Notice the door panels---cheap model with no extras. Dash has idiot lights, I think that is OK on cheapie. Who knows on 72 tops. Single should be on top-of-line models so you can remove top bolts from the top when there are side panels...But I have a cheap 72 with no panels and it came with a single top, no trim, utility buckets and no TL bezels.
I still would question the 29K without more detail...and after all, "condition is more important than mileage".

Re: Come on...no way is this for real!

Shouldn't be any rear bezels on a non CST model. Maybe its me but for some reason the steering wheel looks wrong. Almost looks like a newer four spoke model. Seems kind of strange to have a Blazer with that few options and have chrome bumpers. Just to many suspicious looking things not to be a rebuild and not a aspecially great one. If you read his description close it really doesn't sound like he knows alot about Blazers. Also my CST has a double wall top so you could probably get either top.

Re: Come on...no way is this for real!

Well it may have the mileage that he posted as correct to the vehicle but no where does he mention that the vehicle is all stock and unrestored. Also does anyone know if the steering columns came that dark blue color like the one in the pics. Like mentioned before, aftermarket wheels and tires, wrong console, wrong steering wheel, aftermarket carpet. Definitely some things have been done but the body and paint "look" to be original. My opinion.

Re: Come on...no way is this for real!

Did anyone else notice the Ebay Item Description box?

Doors - 4 doors or more ????
Interior - Tan ????
Exterior - Tan ????

Me thinks that it might be a great deal for someone just wanting a cheap Blazer, but it's not garnering any brownie points for an "original" truck.

I agree with the fact that condition is king. It still pisses me off though that this guy has a couple of the other auctions that have old vehicles with "low" miles.

Buyer beware is correct...

Re: Come on...no way is this for real!

I don't know for absolute certain, but I believe the company selling it is a subsidiary of a big car dealer in the Chicago area http://www.billjacobs.com/

As such, I believe there is a good chance it's legit.

There could be any number of reasons for the things people are taking issue with. There were consoles with cup holders in front of the little jump seat, the carpet could have been added, etc. Nothing I've seen screams it was restored, but who know? Maybe someone will E-mail them and ask?

Like I said, I don't know, but when I went in a dealership last week there was a 75 (I think) Impala convertible on the showroom floor. These things hapen.

Re: Come on...no way is this for real!

As far as the carpet goes, being low end it probably didn't have any carpet. The carpet in now dosen't look like the oem material.Bezels were optional, the door handle is off one tooth. As far as 29k goes,it is very possible. My brother-in-law has a 1954 plymouth Belvedere convertible with 39k on it.

Re: Come on...no way is this for real!

The low miles is definately possible. There is a Jimmy for sale south of Seattle with only 30K on it. They have been trying to sell it for awhile without luck. They are asking $10K, but their latest ad said the first offer over $9K takes it.

Because it happens, I've seen it in my own family. My grandpa bought an 85 Buick Electra new in 85 and hardly ever drove it. He kept it inside, started it and moved it once a week and sold it in 2000 with less than 5000 miles on it.

Now he has a loaded early 90s Suburban that has less than 10K on it.

It doesn't happen every day, but it happens.

Re: Come on...no way is this for real!

Sorry, just don't buy this being a 29k truck. Too many call outs that make ya wonder. If anything, why would the gauges be wrong?! NO one has posted a defense about that. And also the console is wrong.
I can agree with carpet, bezels..ok, but the gauges on a 29k truck? Also, any reputable classic car dealer would post pics of the motor. At least any dealer that knows anything about classics
.....and they mispelled "power breaks"...haha

I have E-Mailed them about it last week with a list of questions and have not yet received a replay. Now I'm pretty sure it is not for real.

Re: Come on...no way is this for real!

I`m just wundering if it came with the honest seller option. They don`t state it is unknown if odo has rolled. In fact, they use the 29,000mi.as a selling point.I think alot could have been added.Especially when it was a base model. But,the paint on the kick panels if worse than the exterior. It`s been at least re-painted,if not restored.

Could of done better with a different sales approach. IMO.

This is a chevy dealer about 3 miles from my house. Anyone interested enough for me to go by and take pics?

BTW, they're a very reputable dealer.
